Wass: "Now is a good moment in my career"
Winning the Copa del Rey, qualifying for the Champions League and helping out Valencia CF in any position required led to a well deserved international recall for Daniel Wass this summer. Following his return to the Denmark setup after a 2.5 years absence, he has been selected again for his country's latest game, which comes against Gibraltar at 8:45pm CEST on Thursday.
"It's very important for my career to continue being part of the national team," Wass said before the game.
"Coming back after almost three years was very nice for me, and I'm looking forward to playing again. When I came on against Georgia after so long away, and set up two goals, I was very happy."
Whilst Wass' performances at club level have also been excellent, he stopped short of saying that now is the best moment of his career.
"It's difficult to say that, but now is a good moment for me. I've got good consistency and am in good shape, which is very important."

Primarily playing as a fullback, the Dane can adapt to any situation or position -and isn't concerned about where he plays, as long as he can contribute.
"When I arrived at Valencia CF I told everybody what my plan was: To win things, play as many games as possible and help the team. I don't care what position I do that in: What concerns me is playing to help the team to win."
Alongside his objectives at club level is a desire to play in Euro 2020 for Denmark, and the next few days will see Wass and his countrymen preparing for the task.
"2012 was a very good experience for me. I want to play in the European Championships next summer, because there are games that will be held in Denmark and the entire country wants us to qualify," he explained.
